The goal of Mason Soccer Club (MSC) is to support the maximum number of youth as part of the Mason soccer program. To achieve this, MSC utilizes annual evaluations to forms teams that support the players’ appropriate level of skills.
Team Levels of Play
MSC currently supports three levels of team competition: Western Suburban Soccer League (WSSL – regional club level competitive play throughout southeast Michigan), Capital Area Soccer League (CASL – community level competitive play in the greater Lansing area), and East Side Soccer League (ESSL – recreational level play among local communities). ESSL begins in second grade, and is the typical team option for second graders. WSSL and/or CASL teams begin for players around third grade and older. Once teams are formed following evaluations, MSC and the team coach(es) will evaluate the collective skill of each team in order to identify the appropriate level of play for the team.
